By partnering with local nonprofits and organizations, Centene employees across the country give back to the communities where we live, work and serve throughout the year. Our commitment to addressing social determinants of health extends to our diverse array of community partners and plays a key role in our responsibility to be a good corporate citizen.

Coast to coast, these core values led many of our local community outreach and volunteer efforts during the holidays, including working to reduce the risk of food insecurity and ensure families had nutritious meals through service and donations.

This commitment also remains steadfast among employees in and around Centene's corporate headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. Supporting the St. Louis area and its residents is a cornerstone of our local engagement by investing in institutions and initiatives that focus on health, inclusion, the whole person, and community development.

Through volunteering and donation drives, more than 220 St. Louis-area employees took part in over 650 on-site and in-house service hours with our community partners in November and December.

New toys, clothing and necessities were given to organizations benefiting children such as Epworth Children and Family Services and Saint Louis Crisis Nursery, which help children and teens who are victims of abuse and neglect. Sorting and packing toiletries, clothing, shoes, and other items for the Little Bit Foundation is another way our teams worked to help our younger populations. Personal notes were also included in each package for the child who received it.

Winter hats and gloves were donated to young students enrolled in Provident Behavioral Health's after-school program, while teens who are part of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis received gift cards.

Centene employees also spent one-on-one time with seniors living at the Mary Ryder Home during their annual holiday shopping trip. In addition to helping them shop, employees provided gift cards and crafted personal notes on more than 100 holiday cards for the residents.

Donating to local charities and participating in community outreach events is a tradition that brings Centene’s teams across the U.S. together to help improve the lives of some of our most vulnerable populations. Thank you to our Centene employees enterprise-wide for transforming the lives, especially during the holidays, for so many of the community members we serve.
