Centene's commitment to local activation and community outreach is critical to the scope of care we provide. We know each community, family, and individual is unique, and collaboration between our health plans and nonprofit organizations helps provide access to much-needed resources.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, our local approach empowers our health plans to create community partnerships and determine how to best help our neighbors in need. Our health plans are responding to the pandemic in a variety of ways within our communities to address the whole health of individuals across the country.

  • In California, Health Net helped establish a relief fund with the United Way of Tulare County. The plan also contributed to the San Diego Foundation's COVID-19 Community Response Fund to help nonprofits provide food, childcare, shelter, and medical care. Health Net also donated to the Los Angeles Mayor's Fund to assist families, healthcare workers, and unhoused Angelenos impacted by the spread of COVID-19.
  • NH Healthy Families in New Hampshire donated funds to Granite United Way earmarked for COVID-19 relief and sent more than 300 toiletry kits to community organizations. The health plan also donated shipments of diapers, formula, and food to community health centers spanning three regions in the state.
  • Three Centene health plans (Buckeye Health Plan, Louisiana Healthcare Connections, and Superior HealthPlan) announced investments in YWCA childcare services for essential workers, including front-line medical personnel. Buckeye Health Plan also distributed grants to four local food pantry organizations across Ohio to assist with emergency needs related to COVID-19.

Centene's health plans will continue partnering with local nonprofit organizations to meet the immediate non-medical needs of our communities far beyond the pandemic.
