Serving more than 15 million members across urban, suburban, and rural populations, Centene is committed to finding new and innovative ways to deliver healthcare. Our mobile health clinics drive better patient access to care by meeting members where they are - delivering a doctor's office or exam room inside a van, bus, or RV to their neighborhoods, schools, parks, or offices. Mobile clinics help connect members to providers by traveling to medically underserved areas, making the experience more convenient for those we serve.

Mobile health clinics have become reliable tools for health systems working to reach the largest-possible population. Research shows they can help improve individual health outcomes, advance population health, and reduce healthcare costs.

These clinics are especially essential for those members confronted with barriers to accessible healthcare, including unreliable transportation, a lack of public transportation, or a scarcity of nearby medical providers. Vehicle-based clinics can belong to health plans or operate as independent entities, often providing primary or preventative care.

Centene's Georgia subsidiary, Peach State Health Plan, recently partnered with Kids'-Doc-On-Wheels, Inc., to increase access to pediatric healthcare services with a new mobile health clinic. The state-of-the-art mobile unit provides well exams, asthma and allergy monitoring, immunizations, behavioral health screenings, weight monitoring, dental services and telehealth access.

"Peach State Health Plan is dedicated to delivering innovative healthcare solutions that address the unique needs of the communities we serve," said Pam Shipley, Interim President & CEO, Peach State Health Plan. "By meeting families directly in their community, we can provide a trustworthy and convenient healthcare experience and empower patients to take charge of their health."

Envolve's Vision Van is another example of a mobile clinic that provides services such as dental, vision care, and blood donation. Doctors and technicians with the van conduct free mobile vision screenings for children and adults who might not otherwise receive them and promote the importance of eye care in the community.
